| - Came here twice during my stay at the Montelucia and left both times super relaxed and refreshed. First of all, this place just smells like what heaven probably smells like. The minty fresh scent just relaxes you. I did a quick 20 minute workout in a gym that is actually pretty adequate for all of one's weightlifting needs. Then I went to the spa. They have both a sauna and a steam room, which I switched between intermittently every 10 minutes. After the steam room and sauna tandem, they have this cold water deluge in which you basically enter a vertical tunnel, pull a string and cold COLD COLD water drops onto your head and body for what felt like an eternity but was probably 30 seconds. This whole experience really increased blood circulation, soothed my muscle tension, rejuvenating my skin, and overall just felt detoxified.
They had a jacuzzi with a bunch of naked men on which i passed.
The showers have some of the best shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. It's different than what is in the actual hotel rooms. I left that shower feeling like a baby's bottom. One of the best spa experiences I've had.
P.S. If you are staying at the Montelucia, the access to Joya Spa is free. The only thing is that you don't get a locker or a robe so make sure you are already changed before you arrive. The gentleman working here was actually super nice and gave me the use of a locker and robe because they were slow, so I appreciated that.
