I used to shop at Ritzy Rags before the new owner took over. I hadn't been there in a while and thought I should check it out again. For the first time I brought in two coats for consignment a few weeks ago and at that time the store appeared to be in total upheaval. The owner's husband said they were remodeling and please excuse the mess. I left the coats and since I was in the neighborhood today I stopped by to check out the place and possibly buy something for myself. Let me first say that I couldn't locate the coats; there was so much "stuff" and the racks were inaccessible due to the extreme clutter. I finally did find the coats crammed onto a rack toward the back of the store and commented to the salesperson that the store was extremely difficult to shop in because everything was so jammed. If you dropped something it would be a miracle if you ever found it again. There was no way to look at anything if somebody was standing in the aisle. I left and a few hours later Lisa, the owner, called me and told me to come and pick up my coats as she no longer wanted them in her shop and didn't appreciate my criticism which was relayed to her by the salesperson. I said I was sorry she didn't take it as constructive criticism but she said sorry was not acceptable and was adamant that I had no idea what was going on there and to please remove my garments within 7 days. An old boss of mine once said that for every complaint there are 500 people who feel the same way but won't say anything. From reading the reviews I see that there are enough people who feel the same way I do. I would never go back and won't recommend it to any of my friends. Some of the clothing was lovely, and I'm sure there are plenty of bargains to be had (if you're really motivated). I think Lisa's attitude and the unprofessionalism of her staff will make short shrift of this business.
