So it appears that the friendly A holes at British Airways (BA) are just a bunch of american hating Britts who will take any opportunity to screw everyone else. My wifes sister flew here from Romania for our wedding last week. On Monday we were advised by US Airways to change our flight due to the storm. After an hour on hold with US Airways we were directed to deal with BA. The woman seemed nice enough with her trendy little british accent, but now I am sure she was the devil sitting in their New Delhi customer call center poking a voo doo doll that resemebled me. She appeared to rebook the flight for Wednesday at 18:20 and gave me all the flight numbers and details. She said an email confirmation would follow and of course it never did.
So yesterday I call and another british she devil informs me that we missed our flight and asks why? Completely stunned I try and explain to this corporate robot the situation, but her 5 functional brain cells cannot comprehend the situation. It appears they rebooked us for the same day as our original flight just 2 hours later... WTF why would I book 2 hours later to avoid a storm that day. Now I am booked right in the middle of it! I finally get transferred to a manager who repeats the same robotic questions about why did I miss my flight so on and so on. He just berates me for 20 minutes about this and says we will have to review the audio and see if you are telling the truth. WTF again. Great customer service. Tell me you think I am lying and refuse to help. He says it'll take 24hrs. At this point I realize that the British have finally found a way to take out hundreds of years of anger on America and I am the sole recipient. I calmly thank him and hope to god he helps us out.
Fast forward to today. I call to check on the status this AM 24 hrs later since I haven't heard anything back. Again I am talking to someone in New Delhi that could care less about me. He says that it will be another 72 hours. At this point my wifes sister will probably lose her job, be kicked out onto the street, and have to become a gypsy in order to survive the retribution of British Airways on a customer that has a paid ticket. I ask for another supervisor and plead for mercy from the almighty and great British Airways. Please just help her get home. There are numerous flights available, she has already paid so what is the big deal. He restates there's nothing he can do but wait for the magical office that records conversations to confirm I am not lying about the whole story. At this point I've spent countless hours dealing with this situation days after my wedding. Everyone in our family is upset and stressed out during what should be a joyous time of celebration. Now it's just wait and see if British Airways calls us back in an hour with a solution. Please share with anyone who is ever contemplating booking with British Airways or US Airways and be fore warned!
