| - This is a no frills gym, but for me that's a positive. I found mainstream gyms like Goodlife to be huge letdowns: overpriced, way too busy, and with a weird cult vibe.
I go to the gym to lift things up and put them down. I don't need the newest or fanciest equipment. This gym has more than adequate number and variety of equipment for my workouts, including rarer machines like the hack squat press. I've been a weightlifter for nearly ten years and use a very wide variety of equipment, so this says something about the equipment they have on hand.
However, they only have two power racks, but I haven't found this to be an issue yet and I've always been able to use one of them.
They also offer free yoga and other classes to members. I haven't tried these yet but this is a pretty nice addition. There is tanning available but it isn't included in the membership itself.
It's true that some of the machines are broken, but they always have two to three of any machine so it's not a big deal for me. That said, they should either fix the machines within a couple weeks (how hard could it be?) or remove them to create space as the floor is somewhat crowded in certain areas.
The shakes and other products are definitely marked-up, but this doesn't surprise me. This should be expected and is pretty much par for the course at gyms. Buy your supplements from a store or online, and make your shakes/protein drinks at home folks. I would never buy products from a gym unless I had no other options, so not a deal breaker for me by any means.
Anyways, very happy with this place, would definitely recommend for those who are sick of the BS from conglomerate style gyms and simply want a place where they can go and workout.
