  • This is the real pinball hall of fame, not to be confused by the one in The Riviera Hotel Casino which is (soon to be "was" as it's scheduled for demolition), which amounts to a smaller arcade game room compared to the robust PINBALL HOF on Tropicana. The location is off the beaten path and you need to drive, take a cab or get a ride service here if you're a visiting tourist. The area is not super sketchy, but also doesn't feel super duper safe either. It's a throwback arcade, I think staffed by volunteers and whose revenue goes towards the maintenance and charity, so it's not built for successful profiteering nor any attempts to make this posh, stylish nor chic as a hangout spot. It's really fun and most games are $0.25, a quarter coin-op, and some are $0.50 or $1.00, but they have change machines. It's like time traveling for those who are old enough to be nostalgic about the vintage pre-video game era... if you're a fan of The Pinball HOF, you should visit San Francisco's Mechanical Museum (similar to this but they have less pinball machines and more cool ancient coin op games located in Fisherman's Wharf near the SF Piers) I like this place, but would LOVE it if they were to move to a more convenient location and also dress it up a bit. I think there's a golden opportunity for one of the big hotel casinos to propose housing the HOF and beautifying it for more to enjoy as an interactive museum. You can spend an hour or so here and be entertained. They also have video games from the 1980's like Defender, Robotron, Q-Bert, Ms. Pac Man, Tron, Track and Field, Spy Hunter, etc too.
