| - Let's get one thing straight. I don't sew clothes. I'm not a seamstress. I can sew simple things like panels, bracelets and anything that mostly means straight lines. But don't let my Simpleton-Sally-Sewing ways fool you! I'm creative and so I need fabric for projects here and there so I qualify to say this.
Fabricland is terrific.
Their discount section is awesome for your low-budget needs. There are literally 100's of bolts that are $5/metre or less and some are really beautiful. Upon moving into my condo, I needed to sew sunshades for my patio and some panels for my bedroom to hide my bane, a red wall! I was unemployed, er, working-challenged and needed to keep my costs down. I love to peruse the fabrics, mixing and matching. It's really pleasant and I find more then a few things to choose from
Those of you lucky enough to be sewing-talented will be happy with selection. Cotton and broadcloth in every colour and pattern, jean fabric, satin, silk, jacquard, brocade, nylon, weather-resistant outdoor fabrics, linen...sheesh, I sound like I know what i'm talking about.
For $10 or $15 I got the yearly sewing membership which entitles me to 20-50% off at any given time and they often have amazing sales. Totally worth it. Sew on my friends...sew on.
