| - WARNING!!!!!! CAUTIONARY TALE!!!!! CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!!!!!!!!!!
I was charged $30 for chiropractic care/spinal alignment for my senior dog. However...my dog DID NOT receive the treatment. I was NOT TOLD she needed an alignment. I was NOT ASKED if I wanted an alignment for her. And I was holding onto her during the whole visit. So when & how did this treatment take place?!?!
When I pointed it out to the receptionist during checkout, she said that she had to check with Dr. Brandt before removing the charge. She went to the back, came back to me, & said that Dr. Brandt was in a treatment room & could not be disturbed. Yet I couldn't leave without paying.
I had to get to work. So I paid the whole bill & was assured that it would be worked out. I didn't hear from anyone later that day nor the following day. So I called to follow-up. The receptionist said neither Dr. Brandt nor the office manager was available & there was no note regarding my $30. Someone would contact me she said. Ok....
2 days after the incident, I received a voicemail stating that my credit card would be credited for the $30. Well...that DIDN'T HAPPEN.
A week later, I was told that Dr. Brandt's alignment is so slight & quick that I must've missed it...even while holding my dog. So I, in fact, was charged correctly. (Oh reallllyyy?) So they are keeping the $30. (WHAT?!) I wouldn't accept that! I fought it.
2 weeks after that, I was told that a check would be sent. DIDN'T HAPPEN.
Then I was told CASH was sent. What legitimate business would send cash?! DIDN'T HAPPEN.
Then I started getting emails from Dr. Brandt & the office manager, basically saying that I was harassing them. REALLY?! Me trying to right their wrong is harassment?! Me following-up on an unresolved is harassment?
I would have gladly paid $30 for the alignment if my dog had needed it & had received it.
I had no problems paying $175- $200+ PER MONTH for her exams & vitamins for 4 months straight - on top of hundreds of dollars for blood work. I would do anything for my girl. But, the charges have to be legit! I won't pay for a service that I did not authorize nor receive!
It was unbelievable to me how Dr. Brandt & her office manager stretched this dilemma out to nearly 3 months! I finally did get my $30 back. But, what an unnecessary, unfortunate battle!
Dr. Brandt is the only holistic vet in town. I really wanted to try something different to treat my dog's liver issues. And although I was put off by Dr. Brandt's uncaring, dismissive bedside manner, I was determined to try. (Example: Dr. Brandt doesn't talk to me or my husband. She examines our fur baby & gives directions to her assistant - who in turn tells us what needs to be done.) I even overlooked the fact that we were charged $200 for our initial consultation - which was supposed to last a full hour. However, we saw Dr. Brandt for no more than 15 minutes.
End result: through a raw food diet & expensive supplements prescribed by Dr. Brandt (totaling $170/mo, our girl was starting to show slight improvement in her liver enzymes. But, her kidney function was starting to deteriorate. Seems I had traded one problem for another by bringing her here. Totally regret it!
