| - To start off, I had a hair appointment booked for 5pm. Nikki called me around noon to move it to 4pm "or else we'll be here until 10" (disclaimer: I had partial foils and a trim, it took 90 minutes, not 5 hours). I took that as her perhaps not wanting to work late so I rearranged a meeting at work. However, when I arrived at 4pm I was told by the nice receptionist that Nikki would be running 20 minutes late. I did not get sat until 4:45 after 45 minutes of waiting. If they are going to make someone wait 45 minutes after getting them to do the favour of moving up the appointment, then they should have absolutely called me before I arrived and ask me to come in later. Extremely poor customer service, especially from a salon that has a strict no show/cancellation policy.
She apologized once as she ran by and quickly said "sorry I'll be with you in 5 minutes!" This was when I was waiting for 20 minutes and would continue to wait 25 minutes. She did not apologize when she sat me.
Once I'm sat, Nikki berates me for the unhealthiness of my long hair, snickering and saying "hair should not look like this". I read a review of another Good Day Hair Shop customer saying she hadn't had a hair cut in over 4 years but was made to feel totally comfortable. I wish I had this experience. By the time Nikki was done scoffing at the quality of my hair, I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. I understand that my hair had a lot of split ends, but I simply can't afford to get a haircut 6-8 weeks and previous hair stylists I've had cut my hair completely understand that.
It's too bad, because I actually loved how my hair turned out: it looks healthy and beautiful. But, unfortunately, I will not be going back because I don't want to spend my money on someone who, however skilled they are at hairstyling, came off very abrasive and with an attitude and completely unapologetic of her tardiness, and made me feel uncomfortable.
