  • Background: I am in my third trimester of pregnancy, looking for a nice prenatal massage and trying to de-stress. Had a few friends recommend Stillwater so I tried it out. Facilities: As a pregnant woman, there isn't much you can take advantage of at a spa. Decor and ambiance were lovely, everything was clean, just very little to do. The change room lockers are keypad locked, so you don't have to carry around a key, although, they do give you a card key to access the change room itself. Fully stocked with every item you need, you can also ask for a smaller robe and slipper size. Inside the changing room, there are little lounge beds where you can watch TV. It's an odd concept, but you can lay there and wait for your massage, or go across the hall to the lounge to wait there. The changing room also hosts a small hot tub, steam room and sauna (nothing for a pregnant woman, really). Showers are also nice, but there isn't a hook in every stall to hang your clothing or towels. You'll have to be selective. In the lounge, they have fruits and some baked goods. You can make yourself a coffee or tea (there is cream and milk in the little fridge), or get a glass of flavoured water. Plenty of seating and magazines available. Quality and Price: A one hour prenatal massage was $180 by an RMT (so covered by some workplace insurance plans). The hour went by quite fast, and was satisfactory. For pregnant women, there is a "hole" in the massage table for you to be face down, and they place a pillow under your body. I wouldn't say it was the most comfortable, but it was doable. When you lay on your back, the chair will be slightly reclined. Service: Sabrina did a good job. She asked about where my concerns were and tried to focus on my left hip. In all honesty, she was very good at the upper back and neck, but was only okay when it came to lower body. She was professional and courteous. Overall: I think the spa is definitely better suited for non-prenatal visits. My experience was okay, but I don't think I'll return with the plethora of other spas in the area.
