  • It's amazing what you could choose as a pet. Exotic Pets has some of the rarest creatures for sale. How rare? Well how about captive bred Galapagos Tortoises, Cayman Blue Rock x Rhino Iguanas. Various morphs of almost every possible species. Rare monitor lizards are usually available, for a price. No matter what price range you are looking for they have something different for you. It's basically a retile zoo that you can shop from. Everything you need to keep these animals alive and fed can be found as well. It may not be the cheapest place to buy the lamps or enclosures but they do have every kind of equipment you need. Please do some research on these creatures before you walk in to buy one, because their individual needs are essential to their survival in a captive environment. There are the tools to simulate the enclosures to suite your selection. Herping is not easy, nor is it cheap! Animals I used to own were an albino Diamond back rattlesnake, Argus Monitor, Flying Squirrels, Haitian boas, Argentine Boas, Columbian Boas, Red Tail Boas, Black Roughneck Monitors, Savanna Monitors, Frilled Dragons, Bearded Dragons, a 16" Sulcutta Tortoise, A pair of 15" Mata Mata turtles, a Pipa Pipa toad, a pair of Giant Mexican Musk turtles, Hypo Jungle Boa, etc. for a total of about 5 racks and various larger enclosures throughout my home all were from Exotic Pets. It costed me about 120-150$ in feeder mice, insects, rats, vegetables fruit and nutrients A WEEK for that many animals. Also the tools to maintain the enclosures and condition the animals came with regular monthly costs like changing UVB lamps, heat bulbs and checking temps and heating pads. It was pretty convenient that all of these needs can be met at one store. (My wife & I didn't have kids back then..) Exotic Pets has been around long enough to earn respect. It is run by an active member of various herpetological associations. If you don't know what that means or which association/societies I'm talking about, than maybe it is an indicater that you should humbly appreciate the advise given here. If you are more concerned with phoney baloney customer service rather than the most impertinent advise on how to care for your animal then you would be best to purchase from the un-mentored staff at Petsmart. Take the info with a grain of salt. No other shop owner in this town has been chosen to write reviews for Reptile Usa magazine. No, I do not nor have I ever worked for Exotic Pets! I am just a former reptile and amphibian collector that has done the research and shopped at all the pet shops in Las Vegas. I don't come for smiles I come for reptiles.
