If you live within reach of the Air Show, even if your drive is in Ohio and within 45 minutes, bring your family and friends. What a display of patriotism, history, adrenaline and down right family fun.
Go when the gates open, early! The entrance is a bit of a funnel. Cars spill in from the freeway, file in line, split into lines and then each car provides tickets or pays prior to being directed to a parking spot. This slowed things down, but the earlier you arrive the more you can avoid the worst and it's less an issue.
It's pricey. The tickets are pricey. The drinks are pricey. The food is pricey, but there are a lot of opportunities for entertainment if you can afford it. You can go inside and sit in many different aircrafts. If you can't afford the ticket prices, you can post up on one of the hills along the freeway or inside the muni lot.
Park inside the airport for $17. Do not pay the $35 to park.
