Oh wow... no kidding about the lack of signage in some places. The layout from international is all sorts of confusing. We really cut it close on our connector due to it as we kept second guessing where to go. There just weren't any signs at all.
Thankfully there wasn't a massive line in TSA and Border Control... but you do have to go through two check-ins here if you are entering the US. Something I hadn't fully prepared for. So I'd highly suggest a much longer layover or at least 2 hours+ to prepare for lines and TSA. Other than the lack of signage, the massive runaround, and just being exhausting... at least I'm thankful for making my connector and getting a pretty good adrenaline rush?
Staff were all very nice actually. TSA and Border Control... so it was a really easy pass through. I'm glad for that.
When we came through there were tons of shops selling maple related things so I guess that will be my first experience of Canada? On the other end of things, this place is really clean, and seems well maintained.
