I was given a gift certificate for a deluxe pedicure. I called and made an appointment for my friend and myself for a Saturday afternoon. They were packed when we arrived, but had no problem getting us going with manis and pedis within about five minutes. I typically purchase basic pedicures so I've never had a "deluxe". Oh my it was nice! The deluxe included three different massage procedures that were done between the typical pedicure process. One massage featured a minty mud (like a mud mask for the feet) along with heated towels (the towels were taken from a small counter-top heater that also sanitizes the towels; the heater stated sanitizer on the outside of the machine). She was mindful to unwrap the towel and wave it around for a few seconds to allow the heat of the towels to diminish. Glad she did because wow they were hot. Any hotter and I would have had to ask her to remove them and cool them down a little more. Another massage was with a sugar scrub. The third massage was with a lotion. All of the massage products came out of individually sealed packages. Although the deluxe pedicure was very nice it was diminished by getting my cuticle cut and bleeding. No matter where I go the nail tech always winds up making me bleed (this happens to me at every single nail salon I go to for pedis; my bad luck I guess). She nicked an area on my cuticle of one of my big toes. As soon as she did, she put a clear liquid on it; guessing and hoping it was to sanitize the spot. When I got home I cleaned the area. It took a few days to heal. Besides that, the rest of the pedicure was great. Besides getting nicked, she was very thorough and meticulous in the execution of the pedicure. For drying my toenails, she escorted me to the front of the shop and I sat in a chair with my own personal nail drying machine (picture uploaded). I really liked that machine and will be looking online to see if I can find one at a reasonable retail prices as I want one for home. I will consider going back for future pedis.
