| - Went to the dental clinic. Unless you have a year to get any work you need done, don't bother. Yes, it's cheaper but in my opinion not worth it. Some appointments where they pretty much do absolutely nothing take up to 3 hours. Good luck if you get a student that needs to keep redoing their work if they did something wrong - mine broke one of my molds then spent over an hour my next appointment trying to get another good one. They have a 3 strikes and you're out policy (if you're late or cancel an appointment less than 24 hours in advance they won't see you anymore - which is fairly understandable, their time is limited) but if you plan on getting sick, make sure you do it more than 24 hours before an appointment or they'll dismiss you as a patient. Your student won't have the guts to tell you that it will count against your absences - just tell you "oh no worries, we'll reschedule you for this day and if you're still not better just give us a call"...and then when you call - you know, because you're still sick -that absence will count against you too but - they won't mention it. They'll just shoot you a certified letter saying "peace out!". So, either plan your illnesses or go in there with the flu. Hopefully you get them all sick because they have a ridiculous policy. Also, once you are dismissed, good luck getting those medical records! When you try to go to a new place you get to wait 10-14 days after you go in to request them, or even longer if you fax the form. Complete waste of my time. Would never recommend.
In response to the comment left by the school - thanks for taking the time to let me know that everyone else has had a great experience and dismissing that fact that mine was poor. Promoting yourselves rather than addressing the issue. What I would have appreciated rather than your survey scores would have been a response to the email I wrote when dismissed as a patient, or a phone call back from your dean that the poor front desk girl transferred me to when she couldn't help me with my issues and obviously felt bad about it. Of course when I was transferred no one answered and I definitely left a message but here we are over a week later and I've heard nothing back. Zero response when contacting you directly, but of course there's a response and you're sorry for any inconvenience when someone blasts you in public. A whole 48 hours later. I emailed you in January and called last Thursday - totally ignored. Hopefully your students have the common sense to figure out communication skills before becoming real doctors rather than following your terrible example.
