I was in Charlotte to attend training at the airport. I was excited this was a Hyatt property until I settled in.
This is not a full service hotel. There isn't any room service or restaurant. You can purchase bar food, but it is limited, expensive and not that great. The first night there after arriving at 7p I ordered my food; went down, paid for it, brought it up and it was wrong. I didn't feel like taking another trip down there to get it right but I was not happy. I called and spoke to the front desk and they reciprocated with grub hub money. I appreciated that but at that moment I wasn't interested in the thought of eating there again even if I didn't have to pay. Another thing, they don't offer soda fountain drinks. You have to purchase a drink out of the market or from the soda machine. At least when I asked for a drink when I picked up my food that is what the lady told me behind the bar. There aren't any restaurants in the vicinity that you can reach safely if you are on foot. No crosswalks. They do have a wonderful breakfast buffet with an omelette bar.
Their website boast a market to buy those essentials that you need. Not a whole lot to choose from here.
The room that I was in was "okay." I think that all the rooms in the hotel have a living space and kitchenette. Nice shower but no bath tub so if you want to have a soak after being on a plane for several hours this will be disappointing. The decor was decent but the sofa in the living space was not comfortable at all. There are TV's in living space and bedroom but there isn't a channel guide and it seemed to me the service in the bedroom was different from the service in the living area. The air conditioning is ancient and loud. I tried to adjust the one in the bedroom one day and the cover fell off. The bedroom light switch on the wall didn't work. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner and when I arrived in the room the little fridge had someones leftover drink in there. The second day my towels weren't replaced and dirty wash cloths were left behind.
The cons outweigh the pros at this Hyatt location.
The shuttle from the airport was HORRIBLE! I was only there for two days and the second day I waited for 40 minutes for the shuttle and had to call twice. Two ladies that was there before me had been waiting longer than I. When the shuttle finally arrived it was packed to the gill with other trainees from another airport location. If you have another choice in a hotel pick some place else.
If I have to ever go back to Charlotte for training I will absolutely pick my own hotel and expense it.
