  • I've used Flooring Gallery before, because of their proximity to our home. Last week I went into the store to get some granite work done. The salesman met me and we started to fill out the paper work. The proverbial "old lady" was sitting in a chair next to where we were. I assumed she was a waiting customer, or whatever. Half way into the paper work, a Sherriff deputy shows up and says she has to leave the store. Her response was that she was not leaving without a receipt. I'm 74 years old, and she reminded me of my mother. Deputy insisted he would put "Hand Cuffs" on her if need be. The little old lady held her ground; saying a Judge had told her to get the receipt. The deputy was polite and as accommodating as he could be, BUT he still had a problem. The little old lady was told by management that she would have to deal with "Corporate". She stated she had dealt with this particular store, and wanted the store to deal with the issue. At this point; I stood up and told everyone within earshot that I was NOT going to do business with any store that treated customers (little old lady, or not) this way. If I have a problem with a store/dealer, I want that store/dealer to handle it. I felt very insecure in any future dealings with this store. I'm still looking for a solution to my "granite" issue, but I have subsequently contracted with Lowe's to have new carpet installed. Sure wish it could have been Flooring Gallery (again, because they are almost just across the street). I would greatly appreciate an update on what happened to this "little old lady". I passed by the store about 30 minutes later, and the Deputy was in the parking lot talking to the lady. She was in her car and he was outside. Don't know it he called for back-up or was trying to defuse the situation. If anyone out there can tell me about the outcome of this; I would REALLY appreciate it!
