  • My kiddo, mom, husband and I stayed here for seven nights last week while spending time in Phoenix. We chose this hotel over TownePlace suites in Goodyear because it has a two BATHROOMS in the two bedroom suite. We were NOT disappointed. Let me say this- we sought out a suite hotel because we were travelling as a family, wanted privacy in our room and peace and quiet at night for a long stay. So if you are looking for a more Metro scene then Avondale is not it, but you are not far from a more busy atmosphere. The Staff at Homewood was fantastic! We truly felt at home. Regardless of whether we were coming or going or what time of day it was, we were always warmly greeted by all staff members. Any and all requests that we made were attended to quickly, including the good fortune of being able to check-in early, without being given a hassle. A huge deal for weary travelers with a child on deck. The grounds, hotel itself and pool/hot tub area were kept very clean, which meant the world to a person like myself, who tromps around barefoot every chance I get. And it feels great to not see garbage cans piled up with trash, cigarette butts lying around, fingerprints on the metal surfaces, etc. We rented the two bedroom, two bathroom suite, separated by a living room and kitchen area. This was legit. With the exception of an oven (we planned on cooking most of our meals at the hotel), the kitchen came equipped with all dishes, cookware and basic appliances that we have at home. Including one that we do not have a home- a dishwasher. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, which made for a smaller living room space, but nothing that made us feel constrained. You could open the living room window completely and the bedroom windows partially, so when the A/C became too much (each room had a separate thermostat) we could open the windows in the evening and relax. Our disappointment about not having an oven was soon rectified. The daily breakfast was so complete that we did not have to go out for breakfast a SINGLE TIME for our entire seven and a half day stay! On Monday through Thursday nights, Homewood Suites offers an "evening reception", which we expected to be cheese and crackers and that would be about it. Nah. Were we surprised to find out that each night was a different "light MEAL" such as large meatballs and bread, chicken noodle soup, nacho bar (we missed this, dammit) etc. To go along with the main item, salad, fruit cocktail, juice, fresh-baked cookies, etc. were always available and the best part (at least for my husband and I) unlimited beer and wine (red and white) as well! Well THANK YOU indeed! We were able to get into our usual routine with perks that we normally DON'T have at home! Lol. After having breakfast by the pool (awesome for our kiddo, who could eat two bites and jump in) we would make our daily journey through Phoenix and were excited and READY to get back to our "home" away from home in time for the evening reception, also enjoyed poolside. I really do not have any complaints about this hotel. The price that we paid for the value was beautiful. We plan to return around the same time next year and will be booking here. If there was one suggestion I would have, it would be to include ovens in the larger suites. But as long as you keep it up with the evening reception, I will not quibble. We shall be back!
