I read all the reviews so far for this year both on yelp and face book and the majority got the default one star because we could not go lower. I looked at last year's reviews and they averaged four stars. How the mighty have fallen. I do not think there is any risk that there will be 60,000 runners next year. I do not have much to add to the other reviews. We managed to skirt most of the disaster areas already mentioned. The slow bag pick up did allow us to see the shuttle bus sign directing people to the south side of the Mandalay Bay through the service entrance. There were no lineups for buses because nobody knew that was where the post race shuttles were. A big thank you to the Aria for the special pre race shuttle. We missed the last bus at 4:10 pm by four people (none were able to do another round trip that we could see after the strip shut and stalled all traffic) The hotel dispatched their limo fleet to take as many of the people in the line as they could. We came for a Vegas trip including a show, a nice hotel, dinner at the Mesa Grill. some shopping and the novelty of running a half marathon down the Strip among other things. We had a great holiday, but next trip to Vegas, I will bring my golf clubs not my running shoes. I suggest the event organizers come to Vancouver for the 2012 Vancouver Whistler Grand Fondo bike ride next September. I did the 2011 ride and that was the best big event I have ever participated in. Check out the face book comments from that event. There were problems in 2010 (the first year) and that organizing group fixed them all for year two.
