Out on a Sunday stroll, I popped into the downtown Danier store and was drawn to a pair of lean electric blue leather pants. I picked up my size and asked an eager salesperson for a dressing room. Sliding the leather pants on, they fit beautifully except I would have preferred a lower waist. Having had other leather skirts and pants altered with no problem, I asked the salesperson if the waist could be lowered - the pants were on sale and I was willing to pay any alteration fee. The salesperson consulted with the manager, and they came over to inform me I could buy the pants and then take them to Danier's head office in the west end of the city to get an alteration. Huh?! Why would I pay for these pants and THEN drive a good 45 minutes away to pay $50 for an alteration that may not even be able to be done? I told the manager I could take them to any alterationist for that matter. What was most disappointing was I have bought lots of leather from Danier before and the customer service was always great - I had had other alterations done conveniently. Needless to say, I didn't buy the electric blue pants and left the store quite disappointed at the service.
