  • This was one of our many, but unfortunately last, visit to Donovan's. We arrived around 7:00 for 7:45 reservations with many, many empty tables in the restaurant, we were invited to sit at the bar which we did. We ordered our drinks and by the time we got them a nice lady told us our table was ready. We then went to our table and were seated with menus and a wine list, we all had very full drinks so did not have to order. While reading off the specials two people in our party had questions on the lobster tail (market price, different sizes) and our server had to leave the table twice to find out information. We ordered dinner a little while later and I ordered a glass of wine. My wine never came, I finally flagged down our sever to remind him and he stated neither of the "team servers" placed the order and he went and got it for me immediately, it was the wrong wine, but I'm not picky so I drank it. After that we had not seen our waiter for a very long time. While waiting for food at one point all 4 of us in our party had empty drinks. At this point my dad finally went and found the manager, Jeffrey, who the two stars in this review are actually for (that & the garlic smashed potatoes) He went and spoke to our server and then came and took our drink orders and brought them out immediately. When our food was finally brought out (by a completely different person that we hadn't seen yet) none of our steaks were cooked to what we had ordered them as, and the skillet fried potatoes were not fully cooked at all, at this point we were so over it and ready to go, we were even celebrating 3 birthdays. At this point Jeffrey was the only one who was tending to us and came back to check on us and examined our steaks and was stunned to see the rawness of them compared to the medium steaks we had ordered. He could not apologize enough and was genuinely sorry for the errors of the night. If you're willing to pay big buck for a nice meal, there's many, many other steakhouses in the valley that I believe to be better, with excellent service. Again, Jeffrey was the only positive part of this experience and was very understanding.
