| - I absolutely love Ulta. Not only as a beauty store, but for the employees. I don't get involved in the Sephora/Ulta debate because I go to Ulta for certain things I just can't get at Sephora.
This particular location is awesome. The staff is always kind and helpful, and I'm pretty sure they are the prettiest staff I've seen in an Ulta store!
Earlier this month I was looking for a place to get my haircut. My PGH Elite friends know that my hair is REALLY long! However, it had not been cut in nearly two years. I found a special for $25 for new clients. I took the deal and booked an appointment the same day.
When I arrived, I was really nervous. I don't like people cutting my hair. I have serious trust issues. I am picky. I have PTSD from one-too-many bad haircuts as a child, and the sad part is that I am SERIOUS. I take my hair seriously, and it's probably the only aspect of my lifestyle that is high maintenance. Anyway, Tiffany introduced herself and said she would be right with me. I arrived 15 minutes early.
The person she was working with slowed her down considerably from what I could see, but even though she was behind schedule, she gave the other client attention and care while still making me feel like I was important. I took note of that, and I thought it was very kind of her.
When it was finally my turn, we went through the whole spiel about what I wanted, didn't want, basic-hair history, etc. I was immediately comfortable with her. She knows her stuff, she is intuitive, she has a professionalism I haven't really found in many stylists.
To make a long story short, I felt incredibly beautiful leaving the salon. I couldn't stop touching my hair or looking at myself in the mirror. Having a nice cut after so long felt REALLY good. I even got to keep a lot of my hair length while getting my hair to look healthy.
I booked another appointment using their online system for a color glaze. I wanted my hair to be a coppery-red hue, and Tiffany had assured me it would be easy since my hair isn't very dark naturally.
I was a little late to my appointment today, but Tiffany got right down to business. The process was so much fun, it was actually my first time having my hair colored in a salon. 23 years old, and I am just now getting professionally colored hair! After she rinsed my hair, we realized that the glaze did not adhere to about half of my hair, but mostly the root. Very sadly, it wasn't what I wanted or expected.
Tiffany took everything with grace and confidence. She fixed the problem with a permanent color. I felt so bad for her, because unlike with a lot of stylists, this absolutely was not her fault. It was definitely my hair being stubborn. I so deeply appreciate her fixing it - I actually had tears in my eyes at one point.
At some point during all of this coloring, she gave my boyfriend a really nice scissor cut. He looks fantastic, too.
If you want great treatment and a nice haircut/color/style, then visit Tiffany! She really is fantastic.
Aside from the salon services, I like this Ulta because they usually have what I want, it's nice and quiet usually and......the best part is it's Ulta!
