I grew up with David walking through the wall of China and making the statue of Liberty Disappear, so I had to see him in person.
I bought tickets at Tix4Tonight. What I didn't know was that the theater is a cocktail theater with tables and chairs around them. When I got my seat I was seated at a tiny cocktail table with a family from Bulgaria who was looking at me like, what are you doing here?
Anyway.... David is very funny and he did some nice illusions of appearing in boxes with other objects. There were some standard birthday tricks like putting himself in a box and pushing the ends in to seem smaller that are too basic for a show like this. I would suggest taking out any basic tricks and only doing mind blowing tricks.
He had an interesting trick with an alien that was long. I think if the trick is going to be that long and elaborate that it needs to have multiple tricks in it not one ok trick, the ending of that trick was ok, but the effects around it were fantastic !!!!! I would also fix the cell phone trick and make it more fantastic.
All in all there were some basic tricks and some interesting ones with some interesting effects that seemed too long, they could be made shorter or added to with more spectacular reveals.
I think this show is ok, but I do know a little about illusions and how they are performed. I think this show needs to be edited for impact.
