  • This review is so long overdue. My entire wedding with 13 guests, no bridal party or dinner, with wedding clothes, booked rooms, and the event space with photography cost about 3K. I don't know anywhere on the planet you can have a wedding for that cost and end up with such fantastic results. We were married on April 28th, 2015 at the Flamingo Garden chapel. Getting married here was completely unexpected and although it was scary planning a wedding remotely from Chicago, it just turned out so perfectly. I didn't even know what flowers I was getting, I just asked for "medium pink" and hoped for the best (which I got) ! I could go on and on about it, but I'll TRY to keep this concise. For an extra fee, we hired Rev Roland August (The Mobile Minister) to marry us, as "Elvis". This is quite possibly the greatest decision I've ever made in my life. Rev August was incredibly passionate, sincere, warm, and very entertaining. He sang, he danced, and he personalized the service based on the brief exchange we had before our ceremony began. I can't thank him enough for his candor and sincerity. I highly recommend him if he's available to marry you. The location is small, the photos are picture-perfect and I think that the more simple you make your choices, the better it turns out. We didn't purchase extra anything and did the whole thing on a budget. The gazebo is so beautiful that I felt confident in it without adding flowers or a runner, etc. My suggestions to planning brides and grooms are to keep your mind open and definitely book additional time with your photographer. it's worth every penny and the first half hour goes by in a flash. We paid for an extra hour and I probably would have book even more time if I had known how fast everything goes. Our photographer posed each and every picture, giving clear directions and varied poses which really set apart our photos from others I see. I honestly couldn't be happier with what we got for the price we paid. The wedding planners are dealing with 20 weddings a day - the ceremonies are short, 10 - 15 minutes, so if they seem aloof, I think it's because they're busy. Be kind, don't be put off, and persist with your questions and requests, however, I think it's important to understand the volume they have. We lucked out and got married on a day with only 3 weddings, so we weren't bumping into other couples before and after - but I've heard this is an issue for some. My ONLY critique is that the pool area is a little noisy next to the chapel and people from that area tend to gawk. The minute the music started and ''Elvis'' began crooning people began to come into the wedding area! The chapel needs to do a better job to keep people OUT (other than my mom yelling that it's a private event) and for that reason, I give 4 out of 5 stars.
