We like trying higher end steak houses around the valley so when we have a special occasion, we know where to go. This was our first trip to Dominick's. The service was on par with what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The meat was delicious. The sides were average to below average. We ordered macaroni and cheese, potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach. The macaroni and cheese was average. The potatoes au gratin were the best of the three sides. The creamed spinach was super disappointing with a heavy smoky flavor that obliterated every other flavor possibility for the dish. What surprised me, was that when I ordered iced tea, the server brought tea in a bottle to the table. I very much enjoy fresh brewed tea. The server was attentive and kept my glass full from the bottle sitting on the table. However, when asked if I would like a refill, a second bottle was brought to the table. The bill ended up showing I paid $12 for ice tea! None of the desserts got our attention, so we passed on the final course. We may try it again, but will continue the search for that perfect steakhouse with a stellar blend of service, meal quality, and upscale atmosphere.
