What do you do when your regular mechanic can't do your oil change because he's too busy? You look on yelp to find a recommended alternative, right? Wrong! Yelp, you let me down on this one...
This place seems so VERY shady to me. They asked for my driver license because I'm a new customer. umm WHY?! In all of my myriad years of car ownership/service I have NEVER been asked for my driver license before getting an oil change. Unacceptable.
Additionally, I was listening to the dialogue between the head mechanic and a customer. Using phrases like, "You seem like a nice guy, and I want to get you the best deal." = instant shade.
On the upside: My oil change was fast.
$49.99 for a synthetic oil change on a tiny little hybrid car is ridiculous! I bought the $10 for $20 deal to help offset the cost a tiny bit. Oh, did I mention that they are recommending I get new windshield wiper blades even though I just got some new ones a few months ago. Ironically and (conveniently for them) they sell them right there inside of their waiting room.
During the oil change, The mechanic called me out to look at my car because he "wants to show everyone their car and the work it might need." Mmmhmm. Whatever!
I won't be back. It's hard to find a mechanic one can trust, and I don't believe I'll find one here. I'll be going back to Island Auto instead.
