I am so happy and thankful that they have the student health center. I am a out of state student and I am not covered by my insurance in Las Vegas (unless it is a serious emergency.) I have gotten a sick a few times and the doctors and nurses are very professional. I also recently torn my calf muscle playing basketball. Since I was out of state, I couldn't go to many places. Thank god they had sport medicine doctors here as well. They are only here on certain days so make sure you call ahead. My doctor was amazing, I am sorry I forgot his name. He examined my calf and wrap it up. He actually recommended me to let it heal and come back in 2-3 weeks, instead of sending me to another doctor to get X-rays right away. He knew it was expensive depending on the insurance. He also showed me stretches to do and explained what to do to help my calf heal. They staff here are super sweet and the doctors actually care.
You can also get your medication in the same area. It is first come first serve. You call in at 8 am when they open to make a appointment for that day. The problem is they get booked really quick. If you do not call early you might not get to see a doctor that day. Their flu shots are also free for students.
