Auto Care AC & Brakes are located in the same property as Auto Zone and directly behind them. I am grateful to have gotten the referral from Guy, Representative at Auto Zone to see these awesome guys. I was greeted and helped by Chuck the mechanic and I came in to inform him of the issues I have been experiencing and what was diagnosed. The diagnoses indicated both knock sensors for replacement and an ABS light. Chuck listened and assessed my vehicle problems and asked me additional questions.
Come to find out by Chuck that was not captured by the diagnosis was a need to replace my alternator to my battery and he thoroughly explained to me in easy to understand terms why this was the issue. I was quoted $309 with parts, labor and taxes and thankful they waived the diagnostic fee. They still recommended getting the ABS fixed and my knock sensors replaced by the time I have my MVD emissions test and shoot that's by November of this year! However, Chuck eased my nerves by informing that the knock sensor does not control my engine and wouldn't be causing the problems it had prior to their service of replacing the alternator. My vehicle was cutting out when I would accelerate and it was scary while being in heavy traffic for a serious potential accident. ACAC&B backs their parts for 1 year and mechanic work warranty of 6 months.
The auto repair store is clean and I was informed newly renovated. I am very happy that I ended up here and had the work done by them. I went to several places and it was only relayed to replace my knock sensors and nothing else showed up, but they also needed my vehicle longer for an assessment since my vehicle problems where intermittent. Chuck on the other hand asked pertinent questions and really investigated the issues. He gathered information that this happens at night, while I am making a turn and while I have both my air conditioning and my headlights on. He hooked up my car with the headlights and a.c. on and showed me that the power of the alternator to the battery ran below the standard range and while turning it dropped.
Chuck also mentioned that fixing the knock sensors would not fix the priority issue of my engine cutting out. He has reassured that this has resolved it. I'll await and see if the indicator engine lights on my dash return and who knows...HOPEFULLY, the fix he did resolves everything and I don't need the other work! That way for the knock sensors I won't have to shell out between $850 to $1,200 what I was quoted at other auto repair places.
Chuck is awesome! THANK YOU CHUCK and Company. Also a special thank you to Heath for helping me out too and luckily he was nearby.
I highly recommend this business! :)
