  • I'm a sucker for a soft launch sign so Juice Department was a welcome treat on one of the first really hot days we've had this year. It being a soft launch meant there were no seats to speak of and make shift tables were in place for the time being. I happen to like a work in progress so the bare walls looked good to me. The juice was great despite being out of the money fruits (mango, blueberry, strawberry) but that's my fault for getting there late in the day. I had an apple, lemon and orange with almond milk smoothie that was really tasty. Yannick (my apologies if I've misspelled that) was one of the happiest people I've ever met and a pleasure to converse with. He told me they have plans to offer food soon and maybe open up the drinks menu a bit. I'm looking forward to trying their coffee. Sadly that's all I have to report for now but it's early days and I'm sure things will change. They have painting to do and counters to install before they open for business properly. I will gladly take the ten minute walk from my office in the hot summer sun to see how things are shaping up in the coming months.
