Written with the average 4.5 given here and being awarded top hotel on Trip Advisor in Toronto.
Let's start with the good:
The lobby and check in were beyond great. Everything was well orchestrated and a genuine feeling of being welcomed was definitely there.
The concierge desk was manned by various staff that were on their game. We received great restaurant suggestions and activities within walking distance of the hotel.
The room itself was very nice. We received an upgrade to a one bedroom one and a half bathroom suite. There were some issues that I will describe later.
The restaurant was beautiful as well with great and friendly service.
Now for the bad:
My gf found gum in the shower. Thats a first for me in any hotel i have stayed at.
The tv in the bathroom mirror didn't work. Not a big deal, but I would not recommend advertising a feature when it doesn't work.
The internet was free but very flakey. This hotel is in the middle of the business district, this needs to work well.
The ventilation in the bedroom was non-existant. I had to turn the ac on in the living room to 11c for more than a day to cool off the room.
I had called a car service to pick us up and gave my room number. The valet never called us to tell us the car was there.
Remember, this is all through the eyes of a supposed 5 star hotel. I would try another place like the Four Seasons if I were to return to Toronto.
