I'm fairly new to Madison, and received a personal recommendation for another stylist at another (pricier) salon from a woman who's cut I liked, and who's hair texture was similar to mine. I thought I couldn't go wrong. Unfortunately, when I got home after my first cut (at this place which shall remain nameless), I discovered multiple uneven areas. I returned and she politely "fixed" it, but I continued to find and chop off random uneven pieces myself over the course of a couple of months and was considering driving back to my old stylist in Chicago for a cut...until I found HAIR.
I love this place! I felt so welcome from the moment I walked in the door. Tony is amazing! I left the pictures of what I wanted on the counter at home by mistake, but no worries. Tony listened to my concerns and we discussed what I wanted...and that's exactly what I got. After my last haircut experience, I was concerned that I might find uneven spots when I got home and styled my hair the way I normally do, since that always tends to be a bit different than what a stylist does. No uneven spots--yay! Tony also recommended I purchase the Aveda product he used to work with my existing Aveda product at home, and it works beautifully--even though I let my hair air dry and Tony used a blow dryer. Oh, and don't forget the scalp and hand massage or the fact that the prices are totally reasonable.
Don't bother going anywhere else! It would just be a waste of time and a potential hair disaster. Who needs that?
