| - My tresses are a fan of The Alcorn. My style is shear (geddit?) genius.
Just beyond the fray of the Summerhill LCBO (I use this frequently as a point for orientation) The Alcorn is a great two-storey salon. It has big sunny windows, current magazines, and FREE COOKIES UNDER A GLASS DOME, YOU GUYZ.
But I'll cut (*haircut wordplay*) to the chase: you know those places that are cool but also frigid? That is NOT The Alcorn. The stylists are hip, the cuts are edgy, and the decor is super-slick (think: big lighting fixtures, white mirrors, and vintage-looking salon chairs), but it's also a very warm and approachable place. Stylists here listen, and take time to make sure they got it right. Much appreciated.
Yelp note: bonus props to The Alcorn website which is easy to navigate and profiles the stylists so you can, pre-visit, hone in on who might best suit your needs. It makes the whole process a little less...erm...hairy.
