  • This is an update to and earlier post about Dr. Ryon who is no longer at this practice and left very unexpectedly so we started seeing Dr. George for our son. While Dr. George is a great doctor who comes highly recommended, and his staff are very friendly, I feel my toddler son was squeezed out as a patient because we are not concierge patients there. The funny thing is we were never told about how the new practice would be run as we scheduled our sons follow up 15 month appointment. The first sign that this place wasn't for us was right after the new office opened, my son got sick, and when I called in the morning for a sick appointment, they couldn't schedule me for 3 business days with any of the practice doctors, and being that it was a Thursday that meant I would have to wait 5 full days including the weekend for my sick toddler to be seen. They also wouldn't take a walk in. So I took my son to quick care that day and again the following Monday since he wasn't getting better; my son ultimately ended up at the hospital as a suggested follow up to check his labored breathing. In hindsight if I had waited for the appointment at dr George's office things could have been a lot worse for my son than how this situation turned out. Regardless, I called to reschedule my son's missed appointment and was asked if my son still wanted to see Dr. George, which I thought was odd at the time but now it makes sense. First of all let me say i know It was my fault that I forgot to set a reminder about my son's appointment, but I never received a reminder phone call, which I now believe to be intentional since I was not paying the concierge fee that I didn't even know was implemented. Regardless, I rebooked my son's overdue appointment with Dr. George, which took 5 weeks to schedule anytime in an afternoon; then the day before that appointment the office called my husband (not me) to cancel the appointment. I called right back... no answer so I left a message. After 4 business days had passed I called again and left another message to schedule, again no call back, so later that day I kept dialing all the extensions until I got hold of someone who promised they would get my son in ASAP which ended up being another 5 weeks out again. I understand if Dr. George wanted to better his practice, but at the expense of neglecting your former patients who aren't even apprised of the changes or given the same treatment as other new patients, is not acceptable. It seems like others love his practice IF your paying the concierge fee; if you ask me we are already paying a fee it's called co-insurance & co-pays which in most cases can be more than the office collects annually for their concierge service. So we've found a new pediatrician who scheduled my son's monthly check up the following week and has blocks of time set aside for sick / walk in appointments; this is what I though I was going g to get with dr. George but didn't.
