Saw the signs on my way into Vegas for CES and decided to check the place out. It's a _huge_ indoor range and gun shop, offering everything from conventional pistol shooting to machine guns. What drew me in was the simulator ranges, where you have the ability to run through tactical training situations using projected video scenarios which interact under your own live fire shooting. (I chose to rent their Glock for this, although you can use your own weapon if you have one)
The simulated scenarios were an absolute blast--and definitely recalibrated my own expectations of my skill level in a realistic gunfight situation vs. the stationary targets used at the range. I died in the simulation the first two times at bat when confronting the first assailant, but it taught me some very valuable lessons about where my targeting for quick shots was going wrong, as well as the necessity to keep firing until an attacker is down (the simulator has the ability to figure out where your shots hit, and replay the scenario showing shot locations--an invaluable training tool). They also have the ability to change up the video scenarios to face you with different challenges ranging from an nactive shooter in an office building to hostage situations.
The $40 simulator package included gun rental, 30 rounds of ammo, and eye/ear protection--a huge bargain. I had a terrific time and can't want to give it another go on my next trip to Vegas. The staff and range masters were wonderful to work with, and all were extremely helpful and friendly. My highest possible recommendation.
