| - Going against the grain here, and I'm sure it's going to upset some! This was our first trip here, and I'll say that my biggest impression was that it's a total "money grab"!
For a regular price of let's say, $350 a night, the fact that only means you have a place to lay your head and use of the water park. No food is included, so if you go to the buffet for dinner like we did, it will set you back $26 for two adults and a five year old. The other restaurant is similar to a steakhouse and entrees start in the $17+ range. The Buffet was, let's be honest here, awful! The meats were way over cooked, the vegetables were tasteless, and the desserts were just average. Drinks weren't included, so prepare to pay for that as well. Dunking Donuts was the best thing on site, however, it's impossible in the morning due to everyone on site going for the ONE sure thing on site that's reasonable in price!
The water park is extremely nice with several nice water slides, a wave pool, outdoor pool, ropes course, miniature golf, large splash area, and a smaller splash area for the really little ones! I appreciate the fact that all of the different pool areas have no more than a 5' depth in any of them which gives a bit more piece of mind for most age ranges.
The rooms are musty smelling, but certainly oversized and come with balconies for that outdoor evening quiet time! The common areas are nicely done, even to the point of Vegas style with the faux aspects of the facades!
I'm certainly not saying it's not worth going, as I'm glad my little girl got to experience it, but from the food, arcade, magic wand quest, and room price, just know that even after checking in they've still got their hand in your wallet!
