We were excited to see the new car wash open this weekend and decided to give it a try. We usually use one of the laser washes in the area but they all do about the same so-so job for $10 (the max). Sam's charges $15 for the works which is high but we figured it must be good; after all the place looks like it's top of the line.
The wash itself is actually the old fashioned ones where they have the brushes twirling. Now I understand why they don't use the twirling brushes any longer. They don't work. The sides of the car were still dirty (nothing near the side mirrors were even touched), the back window was never touched, the hood looked ok, and the top looked ok (The sides are what people see). The tires looked great but they are hand sprayed by attendants.
So while I was very hopeful that this was going to be a great place to take our cars, it just doesn't do a good job. If you do the $30 a month membership where you can take it in as many times as you like then maybe you can take the car in backwards and forwards and get a complete cleaning.
Surely someone can come up with a really good car wash someday, it's not today and it's not here.
PS. There's no hate here. It isn't anyone's fault that this type of car wash just doesn't get your car clean. It could be that you just can't have a car with a tire or odd shape and you don't mind going back over it to clean the nooks and grannies that the power washers generally are better at cleaning. It just doesn't work for me.
