  • The hotel is a great place to stay for a nice weekend getaway as the room is huge and the small kitchen is a major plus that most hotel rooms do not offer. What makes this hotel not a 5 star hotel is the following: 1. Lack of elevators (there are only 2.) For a hotel this size, it's just not enough. Typically during a busy time you will wait 5-10 minutes for the elevator. 2. Hotel restaurant/bar. They give you two drink tickets per person to enjoy between 5-7 PM which of course is a great perk. But, the lines are extremely long at this time and you can expect to wait up to 30 minutes for a drink at the bar. Sometimes it's just not worth the wait. 3. Breakfast buffet is also included for free as well. On paper this sounds like a great thing, but despite the long expected lines that moved surprisingly fast the hotel guests treated this like it was their last meal. When food was put out, it was quickly taken away by the hungry guests who acted like they haven't eaten in 3 days. I literally saw one person fill an entire plate (for them self) of just bacon. I'm talking about 1 - 2 lbs of bacon. It made me sick just looking at it; this person also cut the line periodically to get more food. Overall, it reminded me of feeding time at the zoo or the buffet line on a cruise ship (is there really a difference between the two??) I guess this is not the hotel's fault, but it would be nice to have to wait staff help to police this and make sure the buffet is never empty. 4. I also found the staff at the restaurant to be flat out rude. While in line for the buffet, one of the waiters asked us for our buffet tickets and asked for a tip as well. His exact words were "nobody is working for free here" Just flat out rude on all angles. I always tip well, mostly in excess of 20% and I don't need to be reminded to put money in their tip jar before I have ever been served. My GF and I quickly reminded him that this kind of behavior is unacceptable; hopefully a lesson was learned by him. For the positives: 1. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful and accommodated us thoroughly. 2. Parking is located underneath the building and is plentiful, convenient, and relatively affordable for a big city at $23 per day. The garage and spaces are tight, but this is typical for any city building. 3. The bed is super comfortable, the Jacuzzi tub is amazing, the bathroom is huge, the living room is adequate, the kitchen is great (however a few plates and silver wear would be nice), and the fireplace is amazing. Overall, the hotel stay was nice despite the issues I listed above. It would be very beneficial for the hotel management to provide some better staff training to the restaurant/bar crew to help improve the overall hotel experience.
