I enjoy visiting Ruelo for their macarons once in a while when I'm in the area. The flavours are intense and spot-on - my faves are Chocolate, Early Grey and Ruelo (hazelnut). One major drawback that keeps me from buying here often is the level of sweetness - macarons are delicate desserts and shouldn't overwhelm the palate the way theirs do. If they could cut back about half the sugar, they'd be perfect.
I was also taken here for afternoon tea for a post-Christmas gift. It was a fun option, definitely worth checking out at least once. While it's not the same as afternoon tea in downtown Toronto hotels, it's a bright, relatively quiet space they have in Ruelo which is really nice for having a chat over tea and snacks.
