| - If you like TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and WASTING YOUR TIME, this is definitely the place for you! I stopped by today just before 10 a.m. to pick up a best-selling beauty product that is very highly rated by customers and beauty experts. Their store was locked up tight, but some teenage employee saw me waiting by the door and came to the door to stick her head out and tell me they don't open until 10. I didn't happen to be wearing my watch, or have my phone with me, so I didn't know what time it currently was; when I asked Teenage Chippy what time it was now, she just stared at me and said, "I don't know." Uh... if you don't know what time it is, how do you know it's not yet time to open the store? (Note for business owners everywhere: This is what happens when you let 19-year-olds run your company.) So, I went back to my car and was so irritated by Teenage Chippy's attitude toward me that I nearly left and went elsewhere, but I really wanted to get my hands on this beauty product today. I sat out in my car (which, being August in Arizona, it was already 110 degrees outside) and killed time, waiting for the 19-year-olds inside to open the store. When they finally opened, I went inside and looked everywhere for this best-selling beauty product I had heard so much about and was eager to buy. I had to look around a long time, without any help from anyone, because all of the teenage employees "working" at the time were too busy chit-chatting with each other to offer to help me. After looking around every nook and cranny of their store - with nary any customer service assistance - I finally gave up and went to the cash register to ask one of the cashiers if they could help me find what I was looking for. When I told her what I was looking for, she looked at me quizzically (remember, I was looking for a beauty product that is a HIGHLY REVIEWED BEST SELLER, and I was inside a COSMETICS AND BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE, which should very well know the names of current best-selling products). She said she didn't think they carried it, then yelled clear across the store at another employee to ask if they carried this product (SO professional, and not embarrassing at all to have an employee yelling across the store, advertising to all the other customers what I was looking for - I almost died of mortification). No one could come up with any answers, so the cashier looked it up on her computer and said that Ulta only carried it online. How convenient. She asked if they could order it for me, and I replied no, I could have ordered it online myself last night, but had waited to stop by today because I didn't want to wait for it to ship, hassle with delivery, etc. She suggested that I drive miles away to another Ulta store to buy it there. I said no, I wouldn't be doing that, I would just order it online, and that I definitely would not be ordering it from Ulta's website, after the service I have received. This is the second time in 2 days I have received crappy service from employees at an Ulta store, the first experience being with their store in Happy Valley on 8/25 (which I will also be writing up on Yelp for people to note when considering to what stores they should give their business).
