  • In my opinion, these should be called Y FACE doughnuts. After one bite, there's an expression on your face like, "Y" did I spend my money on these?! I kept hearing and reading so many good reviews about them and FINALLY talked my boyfriend into driving all the way across town. He's a PINKBOX donut fan (I don't like them either). Parking was scarce and awkward around that neighborhood so we found a meter in front of an abandoned house. Oops...someone actually lived there! Two business-minded bums sitting on the porch made us a deal we couldn't refuse. He offered to let us park on his property (if it really was his property) near his shanty house, if we gave him the money from the meter. DEAL. We parked the vehicle and walked over to O FACE, looking back in terror. When I walked in I could BARELY hear the employees. The music was blasting and I kept having to yell, "WHAT?!" ...was this O FACE? Or the Marquee nightclub? I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and saw the O FACE logo all over the walls. I thought it was so cute. Their trashcan made me laugh because I hadn't seen an old school can like that since Sesame Street. I put my trash in it quickly; Oscar the grouch might reach out and grab me! LOL.... I saw the look on my boyfriend's face when I came out. He was irritated that I was in there longer than what I was supposed to, and accused me of taking pictures for Yelp. I lied and said, "No I wasn't!" Hahaha When I saw the displayed donuts my heart sank. "Crème Fraiche glazed". "Apple bacon fritter", "Bacon maple", "Cereal", "Earl Grey old fashioned." "Cookies and Cream with Oreo crumble," "Rootbeer float", "Chocolate covered Poprocks." WTF?!?!?! Ughhhhhhhhh! I hate those kinds of donut places! Not because they don't have a few normal ones, but because they tend to neglect the art of a REAL donut. I always feel like they are trying so hard to WOW the customer, that they forget it has to TASTE good! Even though I pushed to come here I decided it was best I let him to do the ordering. He ordered a bunch of "less weird" donuts while I daydreamed about what I was going to order at Einstein Bagels. Thankfully our vehicle still had all its parts on it and we returned to find the two bums displaying their BEST DVD collection. We made it very clear that "Ghostbusters" and "House Party 7" was not on our collectors list and they grumbled something at us as we drove away. During the drive, my boyfriend took a few bites of the donuts and nearly caused us to wreck as he spit each bite out. Is it THAT bad? I took a few bites from a few and spit it out too. I find it ironic that they choose to spell donuts, "doughnuts" in their title. Each "doughnut" was just as I expected. Dry as the Las Vegas desert. I needed a Ricola cough drop after one bite. There was nothing "doughy" about it. No flavor, no moisture, no nothing. Some of them tasted like their ingredients which was the problem! LOL....but dry! It was almost like they gave us the DISPLAY donut! (Which has always secretly been a fear of mine) Unfortunately this place was NOT my kind of place and if you're into weird "Y FACE" donuts then I certainly recommend this place to you. Fortunately for me, there's more than one bakery in Las Vegas.
