  • Ahh, Earth Fare has a special place in my heart because, primarily, of their soups. One soup in particular, but I'm gonna keep the specifics to myself so there isn't a sudden run on my favorite; I've already turned a few others on to it, darnit!!! *neener neener!* :)~ Oh yah, and one thing I like about their "soup bar" is that if they don't have your favorite available that day hot, all you have to do is buy a small container of it from the refrigerated section above & you can heat it up in the micro in their little cafĂ© area. Nice! Of course they're completely awesome for many reasons other than just their soup. They have items here that are difficult to find elsewhere - for instance their snack aisle is just marvelous. An amazing selection of good-for-you snacks that don't taste like tree bark; I could spend hours in that aisle alone. And their cleaning items. Love'em. I particularly like the Ecover brand, which is kind of difficult to find elsewhere (especially in the Univ are where I am), and believe it or not, they're even reasonably priced! And I feel better since I'm not harming our water sources. Their cake/dessert counter is heavenly. They make a vegan carrot cake that's soooo very delicious. I could name off all sorts'a specific items, but I'll spare you - just get up now & try'em all out for yourself. I think EF has perhaps the best salad bar in town. A little of everything, and items available you wouldn't think of, and would NEVER find at a typical salad bar. And I'm always a bit skeptical of store-brand dressings 'n such, but their Caesar is delicious. It's also nice that if you're going to eat in, you can make your salad in a "real" bowl rather than the typical to-go container. Just a nice added touch that I kinda like. It can get expensive quickly though, so fair warning. I think it's around $8 a pound. There's a terrific selection of unique beverages, such as aloe water with bits of aloe vera in it (yum!), teas of all kinds (both bottled and bagged/boxed), and so on. I love Horizon Organic chocolate milk, and they occasionally put their 24pk cases of 8oz "bottles" on sale for like $20...that's less than buying the 3pks in the grocery store, so that makes me all warm 'n fuzzy when they do that, cuz I love those single serve units. Oh, and on a somewhat odd note - they also have the only hand sanitizer I'll use; I can't think of the name, but it's the only one I've found that doesn't leave that pesky 'film' on my hands. It has a brown & white label if you wanna find it, and they usually have it in the travel size section as well...for like two bucks I think! While this certainly isn't my primary market, it is a marvelous spot to get those odd-ball items, a great lunch while out 'n about, or those natural/organic products I can't find elsewhere (or at Trader Joe's)! I just wish they would open a 2nd location closer to Northlake Mall and/or the Huntersville border so they'd be closer to me!!
