| - I want to like this place more than I do. It is 5 minutes from my house and such a great space, with an adorable patio. But other than those perks, there is nothing really impressive about it. I went once for a few months ago, right after receiving a mailer announcing new management. Nothing stood out then, but I decided to give it another try since they added brunch and sent a buy-one-get-one-free offer. Had a decent margarita and chips and salsa. Salsa is fine, chips are thin and crispy and seem like they might be made in-house but if they are, they should be served warm. I had the huevos rancheros with carnitas, served with roasted small potatoes. It looked so tasty but was bland and uninteresting, even once I doused some Cholula on it. We split the Mexican French toast. The different sauces drizzled on it (chocolate, caramel and pomegranate) blend together and the texture is really moist, more like bread pudding than French toast. The fresh whipped cream was a nice touch. Given how much more I like similar places - Barrio Café, Barrio Queen, Gallo Blanco - I do not think I would pick this place again.
