| - This was my first time to Crispy Crepe and I'm not sure how I feel about my experience. My feelings are a little mixed. To start, the place is in a great location, the atmosphere is nice, and all of the food looks really good.
When my wife and I first walked in, it was very smoky inside. To the point it felt like I was in the kitchen the entire time. I even left smelling like I just worked a shift at the Waffle House. They even had to prop the doors open, but that did not help at all.
The staff was nice and very helpful. I just wasn't sure what to get as there were many options that looked appealing. I settled for the eggs, turkey bacon and waffle plate. It also came with a hash brown casserole scoop. The turkey bacon and eggs were good and so was the hash browns. The waffle on the other hand is part of why I docked a star. It was the most dense and thick waffle I have ever had. It was like eating a tough piece of bread. It was not fluffy or soft at all. It had a good flavor, but I could not stop saying to my wife how tough it was the entire time. I even had trouble cutting it with my knife at times. I'm not sure why this is the case but it's enough for me to never want a waffle there again.
To make matters worse, if I wanted some of the toppings on my waffle, I would be charged an additional $4. Which is kind of ridiculous, being that I was already being charged $12 for the plate. There was also no option for anything other than the turkey bacon. My wife had a crepe and they charged her $3 extra to add the chicken on it. For the price that we paid, I expected to be blown away and I felt very let down. The price, the food and the smoke everywhere is why I'm giving them 3 stars. Many people there seemed to enjoy their food and I might have just ordered the wrong thing.
