| - I actually came to a private event in the upstairs room here, which in of itself was great, but this was my first time as a regular walk-in customer. I always was curious about this place with its huge (and apparently popular) terrace and interesting exterior.
After some confusion about how we were to be seated, we finally found a host and were seated inside (there was a terrace seat but it was a little too warm outside for our taste).
After waiting awhile for our server to greet us (this was a theme of the night) we ordered a couple alcoholic beverages, the fried chicken plate and the burger.
The beverages and chicken arrived in reasonable time. The burger? Waited. And waited. And... "excuse me, is that burger coming?" Long story short, the order never went in to the kitchen, so it never got started, so we just cancelled the order. Which on one hand was perfectly fine because the portion for the chicken order was HUGE, but on the other hand, cmon homie if you can't remember the order maybe you should write it down (what's with servers here thinking they can memorize orders?). And maybe a good gesture might've been a free drink or appetizer, just saying. But I digress. The chicken was surprisingly fantastic.
Other than that, the place has a cool, albeit busy vibe, plays good music, and I'm sure that terrace is great when the wether is right. Hopefully one day I'll be able to try that burger. Or the ribs. Menu had promise. Probably wouldn't want to come here during peak hours; not particularly interested in the drunk college student scene.
So 4 for the chicken and the beer options (they have gluten-free beer!), 2 for the painfully slow and inattentive service, so a solid 3 overall. And yes, we'll be back.
