| - The name of this place definitely holds true! Overall, an excellent meal. Most of it was highlights, but there were a few minor lowlights.
First, the positives. Service was outstanding. I like a place that will seat me for my party of five when I am the only one there. The waiter did not make me feel unwelcome at any point, and when one of our party did not show up, it was no problem. He was also very attentive!
This place is tapas style, you need to order approximately two items to equal a regular entree. That showstealer for me was Korean style pork on a steamed bun with pickled vegetables. It was served like a taco, and it was scrumptious! The sauce had many layers of flavor, and the steamed bum absorbed it perfectly. While I enjoyed the plate of mushrooms, the oil was a little heavy handed. For others at the table, the winner was the spring onion cream soup. One friend got it, and as soon as the other friend tried it, she ordered it for herself!
The dessert showstealer was a rich coconut cake with a meringue topping and a coconut cream. We all agreed at the table that was the best of the two desserts. The other one, a lemon marscapone basil cake, was a bit bland.
I would definitely eat here again. Though I frequent the Starbucks around the corner, I have never been on this street before. It seems like there are lots of interesting restaurants and bars to try!
