Disclaimer: I was there on my own (most people come here with kids) and am not a vacation owner, just someone who booked with Starwood points.
If that describes you, this place is a pretty good choice.
I got one of the small one-bedrooms, but if you don't bring that much stuff (which you won't do if you're a solo or couple) it's fine. Everything you could possibly need, including the apartment-style amenities like the full kitchen and washer/dryer, is somehow packed into that little space. And it's quiet - I was next to a family with a "screaming bundle of joy" and RIGHT next to the pool, and I heard very little with my patio door closed.
Look it up on Google Maps and you'll think this place is isolated - but it's actually a great location. You're just a short distance from the 101 onramp, from which it's a quick jaunt to Old Town Scottsdale or Tempe. And you're also right next to the Fairmont, a swanky place to hang out - out of all this city's mega-resorts, I think that one's the nicest.
Front desk staff were really nice. I'd come back.
