| - I'd like to give them a 5 star review but...
1. while the food was good, and the lobster mac n cheese and risotto were especially good, they did not blow any of us away. at $30+ per entree, i expected more. My chilean sea bass was pretty well executed but not mind blowing. also i wouldn't mind having more than two tiny pieces of fish. my friends ordered duck breast, which they seemed to have enjoyed. another friend got lamb bolognaise but wasn't hungry enough to eat more than a couple of mouthful, so cannot comment on that.
2. as mentioned in a couple of reviews here, the dining area really was smoky. you can not only smell it as you enter and dine there. it lingers on you. my friend also felt it causing irritation in her eyes. so yeah, not cool. they really need better ventilation or just isolation between the dining area and the kitchen. if the non-mind-blowing food cost them half a star, this is worthing docking one and half stars off. personally, i would not be going back until someone reports that they fix this. if i wanted to smell like smoked meat i'd go barbequeing at schenley park myself.
on the brighter side, our server, Matthew, was very helpful. also a plus for the restaurant was that we initially made reservation for 3 and had to change it to 4 adults and a kid sort of last minute. they accommodated us well given the short notice.
