What has gone wrong at Smelly Dog? I've been taking my dog here for the last year and a half. It was always a good experience until recently. Obviously something has happened that now has a once friendly staff bitter and indifferent. That kind of attitude only comes from the management of a business.
For all the people who love this place, did you know about their punch card program? I was never, ever told about it in the year and a half of going there. Why? Why is this program offered to some customers, but not others? I'd truly like an answer as to what qualifies one to be in this program. I overheard a staff member telling a first time customer about it and I asked if this was new. I was told they had been doing this fro a long time. It's a nice idea, but if you don't include everyone it becomes insulting.
I have also been buying my dog's food here since they expanded and now carry it, or should I say claim to carry it. For 2 months I have not been able to buy the size I normally buy. When I inquire I'm told "I guess we sold out". Normally when a store sells that much of something they will simply buy more to accommodate their customers, but there is ZERO concern for customers at this place. I think the owner needs some basic business classes to develop some level of skill. Or better yet, sell Smelly Dog to someone with some business ability and concern for customers.
