While the country has been under a spell of gelato and frozen yogurt over the past few years, it's really nice to see good old-fashioned ice cream making a quiet comeback. Sweet Republic is the perfect illustration of how ice cream can be just as "hip" or trendy as their fellow frozen dessert counterparts. Here you're looking at pure organic and often seasonal ingredients. And, in many cases, items sourced locally. The only thing I'm truly disappointed with?
There is no location central Phoenix. Come Midtown or Downtown, please.
Side-note: Major kudos on your recent mention in this month's Bon Appétit, as one of the nation's "Hot 10 Ice Cream Shops." I cannot tell you how excited I was to open my monthly issue, only to see a local favorite of mine profiled in a such a prominent way.
