| - My wife had a difficult time finding a granite selection she liked after visiting two previous dealers. After walking the grounds of Braza Stone she left having to decide between three granite selections she really liked!! :-) The quality of their granite is top notch and the workmanship as far as the cutting & preparation was excellent. Where things went wrong is the installation. Immediately upon arrival, the tech. questioned me about where is the installer (plumber) for my under the counter sink? The question took me back because Braza asked for and had possession of my sink. After the installation we had a disagreement with the salesman as to whether or not he (clearly if at all) mentioned that all plumbing installation is the homeowners responsibility. He first referred us to a 25 item "do's and don't" form they provide the buyer. NO WHERE on this sheet does it say, "Braza is NOT responsible for putting your plumbing back." Then the salesman proceeded to insist that he tole my wife and I. I met with this salesman on three occasions before the install; surely within three meetings that point would have been made clear. Even then he would not let it go and declared to my wife, "WE ARE STONE WORKERS NOT PLUMBERS!!"
We then moved on to the issue of damage to our walls during the installation. The salesman declared he did mention the potential damage, which he did. Our complaint was the degree of damage and location. We experience big chunks of top-layer drywall missing and damage 22 inches ABOVE the counter top. Upon hearing the degree and location, the salesman professes that the damage was probably already there, previously! Problem with that theory; THE ENTIRE INSIDE HAD BEEN PAINTED TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION!!
Lastly, at the completion of installation, the tech hands me a sign off sheet. This sheet request signing off that the faucets fit and a few other critical confirmations. At the bottom of the form, Braza points out, be sure to check all these items are good before signing because there is a $75 return fee if they have to come back out. Hello, my plumbing isn't in so how the heck am I to declare that the faucet fits?? AND if I find damage or issues after the work area is all cleaned up, you are going to charge me to come back and hand an issue that YOU left unattended!!!???
This is an unfortunate situation because I also had a stack stone quote from Braza, which was pending the condition of the counter tops.....needless to say, "that business will be left at the register of their competitor"
