When I visit Black Creek Pioneer Village, I am reminded that I was born in the wrong time period. (Well, until I remember that being born in the 19th century would mean I'd have fewer ways to combat my unruly hair and my usage of the air conditioner come the summer months would be non existent.)
As a lover of Lucy Maud Montgomery and Laura Ingalls Wilder, a short drive down the 400 brings me back to BCPV every year to get a taste of what life would have been like. For the beer lovers, check out the beer distillery and experience the three different ales they make on site (and can be purchased at certain LBCO locations) via the Temperance tour (an additional $8.00 on top of admission, can be purchased the general store.)
Comfortable, dark coloured walking shoes or rain boots are always a good idea as the paths are made up of dirt: in the summer months, be mindful of the warmer temperatures and in the winter, dress warmly.
Black Creek Pioneer Village hosts a number of seasonal themed events around October and December. While most people who grew up in the GTA have already visited BCPV as kids, it always makes for a relatively inexpensive trip down memory lane.
